2 Acceptance of Terms & Eligibility
By accessing or using PDFMaster, you represent and warrant that you are at least 13 years of age (or 16 years of age where required by local data protection legislation, including the EU GDPR), and that you possess the legal capacity to enter into these binding Terms.
These Terms apply to all visitors and users globally, regardless of whether you access tools anonymously, subscribe to our newsletter, or submit inquiries through our contact channels.
Our Privacy Policy is expressly incorporated into these Terms. By using the Service, you confirm that you have read and understood how we process data and technical operational metrics.
3 Use of Service & Client-Side Execution
PDFMaster grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use our website and tools strictly in accordance with these Terms. The Service is provided free of charge for both personal and commercial use.
Permitted Uses
- Processing, converting, editing, compressing, merging, splitting, reordering, and annotating documents owned or licensed by you.
- Using PDFMaster within commercial, educational, non-profit, or government business document workflows.
- Utilizing the offline capabilities of Service Worker caching on supported web browsers without requiring an active network connection.
Device Hardware & Client Execution Constraints
Because all processing takes place in your browser via JavaScript and WebAssembly:
- Client RAM & CPU Dependency: Processing speed, maximum file sizes, and memory ceilings are governed by your device's hardware (e.g. CPU cores, available RAM, and browser tab memory allocations). While PDFMaster includes multi-tier memory optimizations for 2GB–16GB+ profiles, attempting to process extremely large documents (e.g. 500MB+ or thousands of pages) on low-spec devices may cause browser tab throttling or crashes.
- Local Storage (IndexedDB): Features such as Disaster Session Recovery rely on your browser's local IndexedDB sandbox. You are responsible for ensuring your browser allows local site storage.
4 Prohibited Uses & Abuse Prevention
You agree to use PDFMaster in full compliance with all applicable local, national, and international laws. You must NOT:
- Use the Service to process, produce, or distribute content that is unlawful, defamatory, fraudulent, child sexual abuse material (CSAM), or infringing upon third-party intellectual property.
- Deploy automated scripts, bots, scrapers, or headless browsers to flood the Service, probe endpoints, or bypass Cloudflare rate-limiting protections.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with our server infrastructure, APIs, or software code, or inject fraudulent requests or telemetry.
- Circumvent, disable, or tamper with any edge security measures, CORS protections, or rate limits deployed across the platform.
- Impersonate PDFMaster, its founder Happy Gupta, or falsely imply official endorsement or sponsorship.
- Resell, white-label, or redistribute access to PDFMaster without explicit written authorization.
- Transmit viruses, worms, malware, or destructive code through any communication channel on the website.
Enforcement: Abuse or attempts to compromise service availability will result in legal consiquences.
5 Intellectual Property Rights
Your Documents & Content
You retain 100% full, unencumbered ownership of all files, documents, drawings, text, and images you process using PDFMaster. Because all processing occurs locally within your browser and no document files are transmitted to our servers, you do NOT grant PDFMaster any licence, rights, or claims over your content.
PDFMaster's Intellectual Property
The PDFMaster website, user interfaces, branding, custom icons, graphics, HTML, CSS, client-side conversion logic, and serverless worker code are the intellectual property of PDFMaster and are protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and unfair competition laws. You may not reproduce, copy, or redistribute our platform codebase without prior written consent.
Open-Source Dependencies
PDFMaster proudly incorporates established open-source libraries including PDF.js (Apache 2.0), pdf-lib (MIT), jsPDF (MIT), JSZip (MIT), and Sortable (MIT). These libraries remain under their respective open-source licenses and are self-hosted locally on our domain.
6 Disclaimers & Operational Warranties
The Service is provided strictly on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, PDFMaster disclaims all warranties, including:
- Output Accuracy: While our tools utilize industry-standard rendering and compilation engines, we do not warrant that output PDFs, extracted images, or compression results will be 100% pixel-perfect or suitable for every legal, industrial, or regulatory standard.
- Uninterrupted Uptime: We do not guarantee continuous, bug-free, or uninterrupted website access. Scheduled maintenance or edge routing changes may cause transient unavailability.
- Device Compatibility: Because tool execution depends on client-side browser JavaScript implementations, results and memory handling may vary across older or non-standard mobile browsers.
- Backup Recommendation: You are strongly advised to keep independent backups of all vital documents before performing operations such as page deletion, compression, or metadata sanitization.
7 Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall PDFMaster, its founder Happy Gupta, developers, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, punitive, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, including but not limited to damages for loss of profits, goodwill, data, or other intangible losses arising out of or relating to:
- Your access to, use of, or inability to access or use the Service.
- Any browser memory crash, tab reload, device freeze, or local hardware interruption occurring during client-side document processing.
- Any reliance placed on converted, compressed, or edited document outputs.
- Unauthorized alteration, interception, or loss of data occurring on your local device or network outside the control of PDFMaster.
Because PDFMaster is provided 100% free of charge, our total aggregate liability for any claims arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed INR 50 (Fifty Indian Rupees) or the minimum statutory limit permitted by law.
8 Privacy & Data Protection
Your privacy is an architectural guarantee at PDFMaster. All document conversions, page extractions, compression runs, and annotations take place 100% on your device. We have no servers capable of accessing, viewing, or saving your files.
For complete details on our data handling, client-side session recovery in IndexedDB, and transparent operational telemetry, please review our comprehensive Privacy Policy, which forms an integral part of these Terms.
9 Operational Telemetry, Rate Limiting & Fair Use
To optimize tool stability and prevent memory exhaustion across diverse mobile and desktop devices:
- Operational Metrics: When a tool completes an operation, an asynchronous, non-blocking telemetry event transmits high-level performance benchmarks (such as elapsed calculation duration, general file size category, sanitized format extension, and general hardware tier) to our secure infrastructure.
- Zero File Exposure: Telemetry payloads contain zero file bytes, text, imagery, or personal identities. Original file names are stripped to prevent metadata leakage.
- Fair Use & Abuse Prevention: Service requests and telemetry ingestion are protected by dynamic edge rate limiting and automated security defenses. Attempting to flood endpoints or launch automated abuse will trigger automatic security blocks.
10 Third-Party Links & Resources
PDFMaster may contain links to external third-party sites, references, or open-source documentation. These links are provided for informational convenience only. We have no control over the content, terms, or privacy practices of external websites and accept no liability for any loss or damage arising from your interaction with third-party sites.
To protect your privacy during document workflows, all primary fonts and open-source JavaScript libraries (pdf-lib, PDF.js, jsPDF, JSZip) are hosted locally on our own domain, eliminating third-party CDN tracking.
11 Termination & Access Controls
PDFMaster reserves the right to restrict, suspend, or block access to the website or its backend worker APIs — without prior notice — if we detect abuse, automated scraping, violation of these Terms, or security threats directed at our infrastructure.
Because PDFMaster does not mandate user accounts, termination takes the practical form of edge-level IP, subnet, or user-agent blocking. You may cease using PDFMaster at any time.
12 Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms of Service, and any dispute arising out of or related to them, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, including the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and the Indian Contract Act, 1872, without giving effect to conflict-of-law principles.
Any legal dispute or proceeding arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Bihar, India.
13 Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time to accommodate new tools, changes in our serverless architecture, or legal updates. When changes occur:
- We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this document.
- We will post a summary notice on our website for material updates.
Your continued use of PDFMaster following the effective date of updated Terms constitutes your agreement to the revisions.
