The Short Version

Three things that define how PDFMaster handles your data

Zero File Uploads

Every PDF and image you process stays 100% on your device. We have no servers that receive, store, or analyse your files — ever.

Minimal Data Collection

We only collect basic, anonymised analytics (page views, country-level traffic) to improve the service. No personal identifiers are stored.

No Selling, Ever

We do not sell, rent, share, or trade any user data to third parties for advertising or any other purpose. Full stop.

1 Overview & Scope

Welcome to PDFMaster (pdfmaster.co.in). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect any information when you visit our website or use our suite of PDF and image tools. By using PDFMaster, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

PDFMaster provides a complete suite of browser-based document utilities including PDF Editor & Annotator, Photo to PDF, PDF to Photo, Split PDF, PDF Page Reorder, PDF Compiler (Merge), PDF Metadata Editor & Viewer, and Watermark PDF. The fundamental architectural principle of our service is that all file processing, conversions, manipulations, and session caching take place 100% locally within your browser. No document bytes, text, images, or metadata are ever transmitted to our servers.

PDFMaster's zero-upload architecture means we are technically incapable of accessing, viewing, intercepting, or storing your documents — not simply because of a policy promise, but because our infrastructure is designed without server-side file reception capabilities.

This policy applies to all visitors and users of pdfmaster.co.in globally. If you have any questions, please contact us before using our tools.

2 Information We Collect & Store

We believe in radical transparency and collecting only the bare minimum technical data required to operate and maintain the website:

1. Technical data collected automatically:

  • Browser type and rendering engine (e.g., Chrome, Firefox, Safari) — used to optimize WebAssembly and canvas rendering compatibility
  • Operating system (Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS) — used to verify cross-platform responsive styling
  • Approximate regional location derived from IP (country/city level only) — used for aggregate performance and traffic insights
  • Page visits, bounce rates, and referring URLs — used to measure which tools are most helpful

2. Client-Side Browser Storage (On Your Device Only):

  • IndexedDB Session Recovery Stores — To prevent accidental loss of work from browser crashes, reloads, or closed tabs, tools such as PDF Editor, Split PDF, Photo to PDF, PDF to Photo, PDF Reorder, and PDF Metadata save draft configurations and file buffers locally to your browser's private IndexedDB storage. This data never leaves your computer or phone, is inaccessible to third parties or PDFMaster servers, and can be cleared instantly at any time by clicking the reset/clear button or clearing your browser site data.
  • localStorage Theme Preference — Stores your light or dark mode theme selection (pdfmaster-theme) across visits. Contains no personal or tracking data.

Information we NEVER collect or receive:

  • The contents, file names, text, images, or metadata of any documents processed on the site
  • Personal identifiers such as your real name, physical address, or phone number
  • Payment information, credit card numbers, or billing accounts (PDFMaster is 100% free)
  • User account passwords or login credentials (no accounts exist on PDFMaster)
  • Precise GPS location data

3 On-Device File Processing & Session Recovery

Every tool on PDFMaster operates entirely within your web browser utilizing client-side JavaScript, WebAssembly (Wasm), HTML5 Canvas, and modern Web APIs.

Your files never leave your device. When you open a document, image, or PDF, it is loaded into your local browser's memory (RAM) and processed on your own CPU/GPU. The output file is synthesized directly in memory and saved to your device storage. No server transmission occurs.

How the Disaster Recovery / Session Recovery System Works:

We understand how frustrating it is to lose in-progress edits or complex split configurations due to an accidental tab closure, power outage, or browser crash. To protect your work:

  • Our tools utilize client-side IndexedDB to save temporary snapshot buffers of your active session directly on your device.
  • When you return to the tool, a recovery prompt or pulsing recovery icon lets you restore your document and configurations with a single click.
  • Zero Server Exposure: IndexedDB is a sandboxed, client-only database built into your browser. We have zero network endpoints capable of reading your IndexedDB records.
  • User Control: You can wipe recovery records at any moment by clicking the clear recovery button in the tool or by clearing site cookies/storage in your browser settings.

Offline Availability:

Because all processing scripts, stylesheets, fonts, and WebAssembly bundles are locally hosted and cached via our Service Worker, PDFMaster tools function seamlessly even without an active internet connection once loaded.

4 Cookies, Storage & Analytics

PDFMaster uses minimal, privacy-respecting storage for functionality, performance analytics, and advertising.

Storage mechanisms used:

  • localStorage (Theme & Preferences) — Stores your light/dark mode toggle selection so it persists between sessions without tracking your identity.
  • IndexedDB (Session Recovery) — Sandboxed local browser storage used solely to retain active document drafts on your device.
  • Analytics session identifiers — Anonymized session metrics used to evaluate website uptime and page performance without identifying individuals.
  • Google AdSense & Third-Party Advertising Cookies — Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on prior visits to this or other websites. Users may opt out of personalized advertising at any time by visiting Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info.

You can disable cookies and clear site storage at any time via your browser settings. Disabling cookies will not prevent you from using any core PDFMaster tool.

5 Third-Party Services & Self-Hosted Libraries

We prioritize self-hosting all critical code to eliminate external network calls and data sharing:

  • Self-Hosted Fonts — The Sora and DM Sans typefaces are hosted locally on our infrastructure, ensuring no font requests or IP addresses are shared with external font servers.
  • Self-Hosted Client-Side Libraries — All open-source PDF manipulation engines (including pdf-lib, PDF.js, JSZip, Sortable, jsPDF, and DOMPurify) are packaged locally on our domain, removing dependencies on third-party CDNs.
  • Cloudflare Infrastructure — Cloudflare provides DNS routing, DDoS mitigation, and global edge caching for initial static assets. Cloudflare processes basic connection metadata only, with zero access to your in-browser document processing.

If we introduce any new third-party service that affects user data, we will update this policy and announce the change on our website.

6 Your Privacy Rights

Regardless of your location, we respect your right to understand and control any data associated with your use of PDFMaster. Depending on your jurisdiction (including the EU under GDPR, California under CCPA, and others), you may have the following rights:

  • Right to access — request a copy of any data we hold about you
  • Right to deletion — request erasure of any data we hold about you
  • Right to portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
  • Right to object — opt out of any data processing you consider unnecessary
  • Right to correction — request correction of inaccurate data

Because we collect only anonymised, non-identifiable analytics data, we are typically unable to locate records specifically attributable to you. However, if you believe we may hold identifiable data and would like to exercise any of the above rights, please contact us and we will respond within 30 days.

EU/EEA residents: PDFMaster operates under a legitimate interest legal basis for the minimal analytics described above. You have the right to object to this processing and we will honour such requests.

7 Data Security

Security is embedded into PDFMaster's architecture at every level. Because we do not transmit or store your files, the primary attack vectors that affect other online document tools simply do not apply to us.

  • All pages are served exclusively over HTTPS with TLS encryption
  • Our website is protected by industry-standard DDoS mitigation and web application firewall (WAF) technologies
  • No user account databases exist — there are no credentials to steal or leak
  • File processing libraries (PDF.js, PDF-Lib, etc.) are loaded from reputable, integrity-checked CDN sources
  • We regularly review our codebase and dependencies for known security vulnerabilities

While no internet service can guarantee absolute security, our on-device architecture means your files are protected by your own device's security — not a shared cloud environment.

8 Children's Privacy

PDFMaster is a general-purpose document tool intended for use by individuals aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 where applicable under GDPR).

Since we do not collect personal information from any user, we are not knowingly collecting information from minors either. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately and we will investigate and remove any such data within 48 hours.

9 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or for other operational reasons. When we make material changes, we will:

  1. Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
  2. Post a notice on our homepage for 30 days after the change
  3. Where required by law, obtain your consent before changes take effect

We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of PDFMaster after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. If you do not agree with the updated terms, please discontinue use of the service.
