What Is It

A free PDF viewer that runs entirely on your device

PDFMaster's PDF Viewer lets you open and read any PDF file instantly, right inside your browser. It's powered by Mozilla's open-source PDF.js rendering engine, running locally on your own device — not on our servers.

There's no upload step, so there's nothing to wait on and nothing sitting on a server in the meantime. Open a report, ebook, scanned document, contract, or form, and it renders in the same tab — on a laptop at your desk or a phone on the train, exactly the same way.

Because everything happens on-device, this PDF viewer online tool also works without an internet connection once the page has loaded, and it can safely open password-protected files without ever sending your password anywhere.

Features

Everything you need to read a PDF properly

Instant page navigation

Jump between pages with Previous and Next controls, or type a page number to go straight there.

Smooth zoom & fit width

Zoom in for fine print, zoom out for a full-page view, or fit the page to your screen with a single click.

Rotate pages

Fix a sideways-scanned page instantly, right in the viewer — no re-uploading or re-scanning required.

Search inside the PDF

Find any word or phrase across the whole document, with matches highlighted and one-click jumps between results.

Select & copy text

Select and copy text straight out of the PDF, exactly like a native reader — no extra conversion step.

100% private processing

Your file is decoded and rendered locally in your browser's memory. It's never uploaded, stored, or seen by our servers.

Smart session recovery

Pick up right where you left off. Your reading page, zoom level, and document are saved locally for instant one-click recovery.

3-Page Low-RAM Cache

Loads entire files in IndexedDB disk storage while maintaining only a 3-page sliding window (current - 1, current, current + 1) in RAM for instant, lag-free page navigation.

FAQs

Common questions

Yes. Opening, navigating, searching, and printing a PDF here is completely free, with no sign-up, no watermark, and no daily limits.

No. Your file is decoded and rendered entirely inside your browser's own memory using PDF.js. It's never sent anywhere, which also means it keeps working without an internet connection once the page has loaded.

Yes. If your file is encrypted, the viewer will ask for the password right there on the page. That password is used locally to unlock the file in your browser and is never transmitted anywhere.

We don't set any artificial limit. The only real ceiling is how much memory your device and browser have available — very large scanned PDFs may take a moment longer to render.

Yes. Open the search bar from the toolbar, type a word or phrase, and every match in the document is highlighted with quick buttons to jump between results.

Yes, on PDFs that contain real text rather than just a scanned image. Click and drag over the text the same way you would in any reader, then copy it as usual.

Yes. The layout adapts to any screen size, and touch works for scrolling, tapping the toolbar, and every zoom or navigation control.

Yes. The Print button opens your browser's native print dialog, and Download saves the exact original file straight to your device.

Once you've visited the page and it's cached by your browser, you can keep opening and viewing PDFs offline. You'll just need a connection the very first time you load the page.

Yes. PDFMaster includes a built-in recovery mode powered by your browser's local IndexedDB storage. Your last opened document, current reading page, zoom scale, and rotation are saved 100% locally on your device. If your browser closes or reloads, simply click the Recovery icon in the header or the restore prompt to resume right where you left off.

Instead of bloating your browser's RAM with every page of a large PDF, PDFMaster stores the complete file in your browser's private IndexedDB storage and keeps an intelligent 3-page sliding window (previous page, current page, and next page) in active memory. Adjacent pages are pre-rendered in the background so page turns are instantaneous (0ms lag), while older pages outside the 3-page window are automatically purged from RAM.

This usually means the file is corrupted or isn't a standard PDF. Try re-exporting or re-downloading the original file, then open it again here.
