Your Privacy is Our
Top Priority
We built PDFMaster from the ground up with a single rule: your files never leave your device. This policy explains exactly what we collect, what we don't, and why.
The Short Version
Three things that define how PDFMaster handles your data
Zero File Uploads
Every PDF and image you process stays 100% on your device. We have no servers that receive, store, or analyse your files — ever.
Minimal Data Collection
We only collect basic, anonymised analytics (page views, country-level traffic) to improve the service. No personal identifiers are stored.
No Selling, Ever
We do not sell, rent, share, or trade any user data to third parties for advertising or any other purpose. Full stop.
1 Overview & Scope
Welcome to PDFMaster (pdfmaster.co.in). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect any information when you visit our website or use our PDF and image conversion tools. By using PDFMaster, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
PDFMaster is a free, browser-based toolkit for converting, compressing, merging, and manipulating PDF and image files. The defining feature of our service is that all file processing takes place entirely within your browser using client-side JavaScript. No file data is ever transmitted to our servers.
PDFMaster's core architecture means we are technically incapable of accessing, viewing, or storing your documents — not because we've promised not to, but because our infrastructure was never designed to receive them in the first place.
This policy applies to all visitors of pdfmaster.co.in regardless of location. If you have any questions, please contact us before using our tools.
2 Information We Collect
We believe in collecting only what is absolutely necessary. Here is a complete, transparent list of information that may be associated with your visit:
Information we collect automatically:
- General browser type and version (e.g., Chrome 120, Firefox 122) — used to optimise compatibility
- Operating system type (e.g., Windows, Android) — used to test responsive layouts
- Approximate geographic region derived from IP address (country/city level only) — used for traffic analysis
- Pages visited and time spent on each page — used to understand which tools are most useful
- Referral source (e.g., Google, a bookmark, direct URL) — used to measure marketing effectiveness
Information we never collect:
- Your name, email address, phone number, or any personal identifier
- The contents, names, or metadata of any files you process with our tools
- Payment information of any kind (PDFMaster is completely free)
- Login credentials (no accounts exist on PDFMaster)
- Precise GPS or location data
3 On-Device File Processing
This section is the most important part of our privacy policy. Every tool on PDFMaster — including PDF mergers, converters, compressors, and image tools — operates entirely within your web browser using client-side JavaScript, WebAssembly, and modern browser APIs.
Your files never leave your device. When you select a PDF or image, it is loaded into your browser's memory (RAM) and processed locally. The resulting output file is then downloaded directly to your device. At no point is any file data transmitted over the internet to our servers.
What this means in practice:
- You can use PDFMaster tools even when offline after the page loads
- Processing speed is determined by your device's hardware, not network speed
- Sensitive documents (financial records, medical files, legal documents) can be processed with complete confidence
- We are technically unable to access your files — not just policy-restricted
This architecture is a deliberate design decision, not an afterthought. We chose it precisely because we believe your documents are private by default.
4 Cookies & Analytics
PDFMaster uses a minimal, privacy-respecting approach to cookies and analytics. We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or cross-site tracking of any kind.
Cookies we use:
- Theme preference cookie — stores your light/dark mode preference so it persists between visits. No personal data. Expires after 365 days.
- Analytics session cookie — anonymised session identifier used by our analytics provider to count unique visits without identifying individuals. Expires at end of session.
We use aggregated, anonymised analytics to understand traffic patterns, popular tools, and geographic reach. This data cannot be used to identify any individual visitor.
You can disable cookies at any time via your browser settings. Disabling cookies will not prevent you from using any PDFMaster tool — all core functionality works without them.
5 Third-Party Services
To deliver our service, we rely on a small number of carefully selected third-party providers. Each is used only to deliver the website's core infrastructure and content — not for advertising or user profiling.
- Google Fonts — serves the Sora and DM Sans typefaces. Google may log the font request, but this is standard CDN behaviour and contains no personal data from our users.
- Cloudflare CDN (optional) — may be used to serve static assets faster globally. Cloudflare processes request metadata only, not file contents.
- GitHub (asset hosting) — our logo and icon assets are hosted on GitHub's CDN. Standard CDN request logs apply.
If we introduce any new third-party service that affects user data, we will update this policy and announce the change on our website.
6 Your Privacy Rights
Regardless of your location, we respect your right to understand and control any data associated with your use of PDFMaster. Depending on your jurisdiction (including the EU under GDPR, California under CCPA, and others), you may have the following rights:
- Right to access — request a copy of any data we hold about you
- Right to deletion — request erasure of any data we hold about you
- Right to portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
- Right to object — opt out of any data processing you consider unnecessary
- Right to correction — request correction of inaccurate data
Because we collect only anonymised, non-identifiable analytics data, we are typically unable to locate records specifically attributable to you. However, if you believe we may hold identifiable data and would like to exercise any of the above rights, please contact us and we will respond within 30 days.
EU/EEA residents: PDFMaster operates under a legitimate interest legal basis for the minimal analytics described above. You have the right to object to this processing and we will honour such requests.
7 Data Security
Security is embedded into PDFMaster's architecture at every level. Because we do not transmit or store your files, the primary attack vectors that affect other online document tools simply do not apply to us.
- All pages are served exclusively over HTTPS with TLS encryption
- Our website is protected by industry-standard DDoS mitigation and web application firewall (WAF) technologies
- No user account databases exist — there are no credentials to steal or leak
- File processing libraries (PDF.js, PDF-Lib, etc.) are loaded from reputable, integrity-checked CDN sources
- We regularly review our codebase and dependencies for known security vulnerabilities
While no internet service can guarantee absolute security, our on-device architecture means your files are protected by your own device's security — not a shared cloud environment.
8 Children's Privacy
PDFMaster is a general-purpose document tool intended for use by individuals aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 where applicable under GDPR).
Since we do not collect personal information from any user, we are not knowingly collecting information from minors either. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately and we will investigate and remove any such data within 48 hours.
9 Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or for other operational reasons. When we make material changes, we will:
- Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
- Post a notice on our homepage for 30 days after the change
- Where required by law, obtain your consent before changes take effect
We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of PDFMaster after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. If you do not agree with the updated terms, please discontinue use of the service.
Previous versions of this policy are available on request via our contact page.
